The Diocese of Lansing is comprised of 10 counties covering 6,218 square miles: Clinton, Eaton, Genesee, Hillsdale, Ingham, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Shiawassee and Washtenaw counties. Major cities are Lansing, Adrian, Ann Arbor, Flint, Jackson, Owosso, and Ypsilanti. 2013 figures provided by the U.S. Census Bureau estimate the total population in the 10-county area at 1,795,538. The Official Catholic Directory 2019 approximates the diocesan Catholic population at 185,580.

Specific to our Catholic Schools*:

  • We serve more than 8,400 students across 36 schools.
  • Enrollment has increased 10% over the past three years.
  • More than $650,000 in financial aid was distributed to families serving 700 students.
  • 15% of the financial aid is met.
  • 18 of our 27 current seminarians attended Catholic schools or were homeschooled.
  • The first new Catholic school in 20 years opened at St. Andrew the Apostle in Saline in the fall of 2023.
